Flora’s Flowers

Posted on 14 May 2009

Book Review: Flora’s Flowers is a pun-tastic book which toddlers can enjoy reading with parents. Written by the experienced Debi Gliori, Flora’s Flowers tell us the story of a little rabbit who tries to build a house by only growing a brick. It doesn’t grow but a bird was able to take nest in that house attempt.

Flora’s Flowers is more than a tale about a speaking animal. Flora is the youngest in a large warren of rabbits and the toddlers will be able to see a family united at work while trying to grow things in the garden (for their consumption as well).

With colorful and vivid illustrations, toddlers will sure to enjoy the adventures of Flora as she try to build a house from a single brick. Time pass and nothing seems to happen with the brick until a surprise visitor arrives.

This is not the first time Debi Gliori wrote about the Rabbit-Bunn family with the earlier work Flora’s Blanket. The continuing success of the family is proof of the warm-loving storytelling of Gliori which have endeared many children all over the world.
