Some people believe school uniforms are the only way to go when discussing a child education. Others believe they hamper a child’s self expression and should not be forced upon children. Regardless of the opinion, the use of uniforms in today’s schools as long been an intense topic among parents and faculty alike.

Experts say that violence in schools is often caused by differences in style among the students, and that uniforms have been proven to drastically reduce violence by removing the differences. The wearing of uniforms makes for a less stressful learning environment, which in turn lessens the tensions that lead to fighting.

Kids can be cruel. If one does not possess attire the wealthy student population considers ‘cool’, they will bully the poor kid, reducing his or her self esteem to terrible lows. This is usually the root of most violence and other teen tragedies, such as suicides and drug use. These disastrous results need never occur, and one way to deter them is the use of uniforms.

Sometimes, gangs crop up in schools. When they do, uniform clothing can help keep gang activity in check. By putting members of different gangs into the same clothes, you eliminate some of the hostility and gain some measure of peace.

Students can have their sense of self worth and self confidence impacted by the use of uniforms. When students wear uniforms, some schools make them act in a civil and respectable manner everywhere they go. This can raise a student’s opinion of themselves by showing them that respect can be gained by conducting yourself correctly.

Regular clothing causes far too many distractions. A student who worries about the logo splashed across his chest or jeans is not worrying about his next test. Fashion can mess up a student’s priorities and cause their studies to suffer.

Of course, uniforms are much easier to manage than regular clothes. A bunch of uniforms are much easier to organize than a lot of different clothing. Plus, they make a closet look nice and organized.

When kids grow out of uniforms, they can donate them to other kids or recycle them within the family. Uniforms are meant to instill a sense of sameness in children; they make kids focus on what’s important and not what’s popular. Doing this makes for a happier kid and a more successful student.

A child has a distributed time for school and home thus he is distributed amongst parents and teachers. We can say that parents and teachers play a very important role in shaping child’s future.

Child education is basically a process that leads to mental and psychological growth of a child. Apart from leaning the academics a child learns various other things like team work, table manners, sharing, unity, teamwork. A school is a form of institute for a child; some say parents are the first teacher for the child however I feel teachers are the second parents for children. Since kindergarten a child is handed over to the teachers and teachers nourish him and bestow him with the love support and good habits.

Parents on the other hand are responsible for the overall development of the child; they play a very important role in the socializing process of the child. Right from the bed time stories to the behavioral habits parents play a very important role in making a child a responsible citizen. A successful teacher always has a keen ear on parents. Such teacher normally asks the parents about the behavior of the child, his habits and activities and behaves accordingly to him; she is responsible for his growth and development and thus tries to bring out the best in him. She is always alert with the cultures and family values of the child and thus tries not commenting or passing any judgment on the parenting styles. She thinks widely and makes sure that at any moment she may not hurt the mind of the child. Communication is best medium to solve problems. A successful teacher is always ardent at talking to the students and solving their problems, she is always approachable by almost every child of the class. Instead of blaming the child for not completing particular thing or being incapable of working on particular project or achieving bad grades she tries to find out the reason behind child’s failure or incompetency.

A successful parent on the other hand always takes the note of the suggestions the teacher has given. Such parents try to interpret on their own the suggestion given by the teachers and inculcate it in the upbringing of the children which in turn result in their growth. Over pamper or temper both results in the under development of the child. Over pamper makes the child over confident that results in the underdevelopment of the child while over temper makes the child under confident which may result in the mental turmoil of the child which also results in the underdevelopment of the child.

Stacia Tauscher remarkably said “We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that he is someone today.” A child is hope for tomorrow however one should never forget that his today shapes his tomorrow. The amount of pressure and mental trauma the child faces results in his underdevelopment and spoils his tomorrow. A joint venture of parents and teachers helps shaping the child’s future, his development and enhances his intellect. A child nurtured under such successful parents and teachers bestows the best in him.

Children learn what they see modeled before them especially for child education. When it comes to being a good sport, are you demonstrating how to be one? You may not have thought about how to teach your child to be a good sport, but it may be something to consider - especially if you think they’ll want to play organized sports.

Sportsmanship can be defined as the way you conduct yourself suitably to all participants in sports. Included in this idea is playing fair, striving to do one’s best, and losing gracefully. If these are qualities parents want their children to display, why is it there have been newscasts from around the world of parents acting just the opposite?

Your children may wonder why good sportsmanship is important. You may be wondering how to instill good sportsmanship in your children from an early age so it will be evident as they get older and need it.

Most children instinctively want to win and considered to be the best at everything. Unfortunately, the desire to win may cause some children to display poor sportsmanship rather than good. You might want to use some of these tips to help your child learn how to be a good sport.

When children are preschoolers their parents may have a tendency to let their children win. Although this is usually done from a parent’s love for the child, it can give them the impression that they can win at any game because they won against their parents. The better choice might be to teach your child how to play a game and then “let the chips fall as they may.” They might actually learn more about the game, and being a good sport, by losing at an early age.

If they complain and whine about not winning, let them know how much practice it took for you to become good at the game. You could also offer to play with them whenever they like, as long as you’re not in the middle of something else, so they can get better at the game and possibly beat you in the future.

Model good sportsmanship while watching sports on TV or in person. Cheer for your team, of course, but make positive comments about the opposing team. Say something about the good defense or how well the team works together. This teaches your child to enjoy the game, be a fan of one team, but respect the players on the other team.

Encourage your child and praise them when they show good sportsmanship, no matter what the game. If they’re not quite the good sport, acknowledge and address the negative behavior. Good sports play fair and follow the rules. Children need to understand the difference between being a good sport or a bad sport; your praise for positive behavior will reinforce that knowledge and entice them to choose the higher ground.

As a parent, you want your children to play fair. When you teach your child to be a good sport, remember they learn a great deal by watching you. If you’re a good sport, your children will be more likely to follow suit.

Each country in the world more than likely has a statement of allegiance that their citizens know and recite. It’s no different in the United States where the Pledge of Allegiance has been spoken in classrooms for child education around the country since 1892. Many people, however, don’t know the history behind the Pledge; here’s a way to change that.

The Pledge of Allegiance is an oath that American citizens make to assert their loyalty to the country. It has been quoted at the beginning of the school day as well as during many public events. Each day, the U.S. Congress opens its session by reciting the Pledge. When reciting the Pledge, one would stand at attention facing the flag and place their right hand over their heart. If the person is a member of the military, they are allowed to leave their hats on and salute the flag.

Written in 1892 by Frances Bellamy, a Baptist minister, the Pledge of Allegiance was first printed in the children’s magazine The Youth’s Companion. The Pledge was written to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the discovery of America by Christopher Columbus. The original Pledge, however, read differently: “I Pledge Allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands: one nation indivisible with liberty and justice for all.”

By October 1892, President Benjamin Harrison made the proclamation that the Pledge would be recited during Columbus Day observances. Over the years, however, changes have been made to the Pledge. The first major change was from “my Flag” to “the Flag of the United States” in 1923. The phrase “of America” was added a year later. On June 22, 1942, the Pledge was declared the national pledge by the U.S. Congress.

The phrase “under God” was added originally to the Pledge in 1951 by the Knights of Columbus, pulling the phrase from the Gettysburg Address by Abraham Lincoln. The addition of this phrase to the national pledge, however, took considerably longer. Following a sermon by Reverend George M. Docherty, in 1954 President Dwight D. Eisenhower agreed that “under God” should be a part of the Pledge to help keep the United States humble despite its strength.

In recent years, some people have been trying to get the phrase “under God” taken back out of the Pledge. Their rationale is that having this phrase in the Pledge violates the protection in the Constitution about the establishment of religion.

In effect, when one pledges allegiance they are promising their loyalty to the ideals represented by the flag, loyalty to each of the states in the country, as well as to the government which unites all of us. The current Pledge of Allegiance is recited at the beginning of school and also during sports events around the country. It currently reads: “I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands: one Nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.”

The United States has many symbols – the Bald Eagle, Mount Rushmore, and others – but one that stands out for those coming to the United States from another country is the Statue of Liberty. In fact, this one statue is a monument to freedom easily recognizable all over the world and for child education as well.

Frederic Auguste Bartholdi, a French sculptor, came up with the idea for the Statue of Liberty (also known as Liberty Enlightening the World) while he was visiting Egypt. Knowing how large he wanted the statue to be, he enlisted the help of Gustave Eiffel, designer of the Eiffel Tower to help him create the structure of the statue. The statue was given to the United States in 1886 by the people of France in a gesture of friendship.

The statue of Lady Liberty, constructed entirely in France, traveled by boat from France to the New York harbor taking over a year for it to be reassembled. Standing in the New York Harbor welcoming immigrants, visitors, and those returning to the US after travel abroad, the statue is over 305 feet tall, including the pedestal. The statue is one of the first items visible when flying into New York.

The Statue of Liberty is a robed woman, believed to be Libertas, the ancient Roman goddess of freedom from slavery, oppression, and tyranny. She appears to be stepping forward with her left foot stepping on broken shackles. She holds a raised torch in one hand, symbolizing enlightenment. The tablet made of stone in her left hand represents knowledge.

The statue is made of steel undergirding with a copper layer on the outside; she now appears green due to oxidation. She wears a tiara with seven points. Many experts agree that the points represent the seven continents and seas. Inside the statue is the poem by Emma Lazarus entitled The New Colossus engraved on a bronze plaque which was added in 1903.

How did the statue become associated with freedom? Many historians credit this to the number of immigrants, counting in the millions over the years, who have come to the United States to find a new life. Many arrived on the shores of America fleeing oppression in their own homeland, so it’s no wonder the Statue of Liberty is seen as a symbol of freedom.

If you have never seen the Statue of Liberty in person, and you’re traveling to France, you can see a smaller version located in the Jardin du Luxembourg in Paris. Another small model was given to Maceio, a city in the northwest of Brazil. Other versions can be found in locations around the United States and the world.

The Statue of Liberty has been a symbol of freedom for well over 100 years. If you have the opportunity, going to see it in person can be an event that you’ll remember for years to come. Who knows, you may have had relatives who immigrated to the United States and viewed the statue with fresh eyes and a heart yearning for freedom.

You’ve thought about putting it all in a book, but book publishing can be expensive. Here are easy steps to publish your family website online and save yourself the expense of a bound volume.

Why do you want to publish your family website online? Some want to share the information with family spread around the world. Others do it in an attempt to find other family members they haven’t met. Whatever your reason, know that you can do it with some time and effort.

Your first step is to decide what and where you want to publish it. Do you want family around the world to add what they have? Or do you want to publish what you have with photos of family members and any pertinent source documents? Knowing exactly why you want to publish the information will help you decide which type of website you’ll need.

You can create a searchable database by submitting GEDCOM files to other websites which already offer this service. Websites such as Ancestry World Tree, RootsWeb World Connect, and GenCircles are a few to consider. This is the simplest way to publish your family data, but it may not be enough.

Creating your own website requires you to get a domain name and web hosting service. There are some websites which are designed for genealogists; some which will do so for free. If you have to pay to host the website, you will probably get extra features to make the price worth paying.

Some genealogists have chosen a blog format for publishing family history. You can do this as a type of journal detailing the information you’ve found or you can modify most blogs to include photographs, links to documents, or other content other than mere text. Depending upon the information you want to include, you may be able to do this yourself. If you don’t have the ability, it’s generally easy to find people who will design a website for you for a price.

Create a sitemap which is a list of the pages your site contains. What categories or sections will there be? You may want to plan on leaving room on your sitemap to add more pages in the future. If you do this step it will allow you to organize your thoughts and help you decide what content needs to go on which page.

Write the content for the website - whether it is a narrative of the family history, stories told to you by various family members, or descriptions of what you’ve done to find the information you’re presenting. Then you can link to copies of actual documents showing birth, marriage, or death certificates or others you may have.

Try to add photographs if possible. While most people will be glad to have documentation about their family, they’d probably enjoy looking at pictures, too. It is also important to proof-read everything to ensure the information is correct and names are not misspelled.

Once you have everything ready, publish the website. This may be the easiest step, but it may have taken you a while to get there. Remember, these steps to publish your family website online may be easy, but the effort and time to get to this point may have been more difficult. When your website is up and family members are visiting, you will be glad you spent the time.

Children love animals, especially soft furry ones. But they also like to watch birds for child education. If they can lear about birds in their own backyard, you may find you have a budding bird watcher in the family. Who knows, you may have embarked on a new hobby that you and your whole family can enjoy!

Do what you can to bring various native birds to your yard. Provide the things they need to survive – such as food, water, shelter, a nest site, and natural habitat – and you may notice more and more birds flying around your home. In fact, a bird-friendly yard is important when the prospect of losing natural habitat is so often a concern.

There are a number of ways you can encourage your children to learn about the birds in your own backyard, but first you have to get the birds there. One of the easiest ways to draw birds to your home is to set up bird feeders near the windows of your home. This will draw birds to your yard and your child can watch the birds from the comfort of your home, which is particularly helpful on cold or rainy days.

Birds are omnivores; they eat both plant and animal matter to stay alive. In the spring and summer they prefer to eat worms, insects, and spiders. As cooler weather enters your area, they need fruit and seeds to eat during their fall migration or during colder winter months. Try to landscape your yard so that it provides the foods birds need.

Water is also important for birds. Not only do they need to drink water, many also enjoy bathing in it. Providing a safe, shallow water source may attract birds that may not normally come to visit feeders. Place birdbaths in full sunlight and partially shaded areas of your yard. This will provide warm water in cooler weather as well as cooler water when temperatures soar.

Buy a good quality book that has pictures or illustrations of the birds in your region. This will allow your child to look up and learn about the birds that come to your backyard. They’ll have a picture to verify what type of bird it is, learn what their habitat and range are, and what both sexes look like.

Encourage your child to keep a log of what birds visit their yard. This can be simple like a three-ring binder with paper and list of birds they see. Or it can be more elaborate like an artist’s notebook, where they can draw a picture of the bird and journal about its visit.

Even though the Great Backyard Bird Count is over for the year (it normally runs during the month of February), you can encourage your child to join a local bird-watching club or one of the online organizations for bird watchers. You can find out more about the Great Backyard Bird Count or other bird-watching organizations by helping to search for information online.

Take advantage of your child’s curiosity about nature and the environment in which they live. Make it possible for them to see native birds in your backyard. This will encourage them to learn about conservation of natural bird habitats as they are learning about the birds. If you learn about the birds in your own backyard, and encourage your children to do the same, you will find that you’ve created another way to stay connected with your child as they grow up.

The Star Spangled Banner talks about the “rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air.” Thankfully, the only rockets and bombs that can be found on the Fourth of July are fireworks and patriotic decorations. If your child wants rockets this July 4th, let them make their own that they can enjoy for child education after the holiday has passed.

The 4th of July is a wonderful time to allow your children to make patriotic crafts. One of the easiest they can try, even if they are very young, is making paper rockets. They’re a quick and easy craft they can make with minimal adult supervision.

These are the items you’ll need to have available for your children to make 4th of July rockets:

* Empty toilet paper or paper towel tubes, depending upon how large they want their rocket to be
* Pre-cut colored paper - construction paper, colored printer paper, and patriotic wrapping paper will all work
* Cellophane tape or a glue stick
* Markers and stickers
* Gift wrap ribbon

If you’re using solid colored paper, your child will definitely want to decorate the paper before constructing their rocket. Be sure they know which part of the design is covered up when the paper is glued or taped. When the decorations are complete, wrap the paper around the tube and tape it in place.

Draw a 3-inch circle on sheet of paper and cut it out. Carefully cut from one edge to the center. Pull one side of the circle behind the other creating a cone shape. Tape this to hold its shape and then attach it to the end of the tube using two or three pieces of tape.

Cut triangles out to use as fins. Tape three of these onto the end without the cone. If the cone and fins are level, the finished rocket will be able to stand. Fins that extend past the end of the rocket will look cool, but they probably won’t allow the rocket to stand. They can be used, however, if your child intends to hang it from the ceiling.

To give the illusion that the rocket is blazing through the sky, your child could tape pieces of red, orange, or white ribbon to the open end of the rocket. They can hang the rocket from the ceiling using loops of fishing line.

Using glow-in-the-dark stickers on their rocket would help them see their rocket in the dark. Your child may find making 4th of July rockets may be so much fun they’ll want to create more than one. Before you know it, they may have rockets hanging all over the ceiling. Of course, as long as there aren’t actual explosions, you should be fine.

With cut-backs in child education budgets, one of the areas to suffer is allowing children to have recess during the school day. You know how being physically active can help you feel better, look better, concentrate more, and be healthier than leading a sedentary life. The same is true for your children. Use hula hoops and jump ropes as a fun way to get you and your children moving at home.

Unstructured recess may be a thing of the past at your school, but that doesn’t mean you can’t give your children unstructured play at home. Purchasing play equipment like hula hoops, jump ropes, and balls can make active play something your children look forward to each day. Science has proven that having this type of equipment available may help your children be more active and play for longer periods of time.

You know increased activity can help stave off obesity in your children, so why not do what you can to help improve their health? Is there a better way to encourage them to get moving than by providing them with fun activities they can do? And, while you’re at it, why don’t you join in the fun with them?

What can you do with a hula hoop? Actually, you might be surprised. Obviously, you can use the hula hoop as it was intended. You swing your hips in a circular movement and try to keep the hoop moving. Did you know that using one of these hoops, especially if it has been weighted, is a great abdominal exercise? They can also be used as a prop in rhythmic dancing or gymnastics. You can also use them at different points on the body, so you can concentrate on separate areas and give them a great workout.

Jump ropes are also wonderful pieces of exercise equipment. Of course, if more than one person chooses to use it at once, you will probably want to get one for everyone in the family. Again, you can use these as intended, jumping rope, but you can also incorporate them into gymnastics or rhythmic dancing. If you’re not sure what you can do with a jump rope, take a look at double Dutch jump roping. You’ll be amazed at the way some athletes use a simple pair of ropes.

Find hula hoops and jump ropes at local department stores. If you don’t think those will stand up to use, you may want to look at school supply stores. If there aren’t any school supply stores nearby, you can always look online to find them. You may find other pieces of exercise equipment that you’ll be interested in, too.

Remember that the goal is to encourage your child to get active rather than sitting in front of a computer or television. Give them a couple of pieces of exercise equipment and they’re more likely to use them. If you really want to encourage them, let them see you use the equipment, too. There’s nothing like exercise to get you and your whole family healthier and quite possibly happier.

Having a baby is a great experience. After a while, you can’t wait for them to be able to talk to you and tell you what they want. You may have a toddler that doesn’t talk well and wonder how you can help them talk for child development. These ten tips can give you ideas of ways to encourage your toddler to talk.

1. Use adult language. Speak to your baby in real words to give your baby a better understanding of how to talk rather than making up words or nonsensical sounds.

2. Talk directly to your toddler. Look at them while you talk. Spend time talking to them; ask them questions even if they don’t have a very big vocabulary.

3. Be sure to tell them what you’re doing. If it’s time to change their clothes for bedtime, tell them. “Off with your shoes. Remove your pants and shirt.” Repeating this each time you change them helps them learn to use labels for their clothing.

4. Read to them as often as possible. Picture dictionaries can introduce them to new words. Point to the pictures in the book and name each one. Read simple stories using expression in your voice for the different characters. Your toddler will love it!

5. Try not to talk or mumble to yourself which can confuse your toddler. They may begin to think that words are meaningless if someone isn’t responding when you talk.

6. Play repeating games with your toddler. Start out with simple words. Point to a toy they like and say “toy.” Ask them if they would like the toy and then ask them if they can say “toy.” If they try, praise them whether they can say the word or not. Then give them the toy. Repeat with other things they point to and indicate they want.

7. Leave the television off as much as possible. Parking your toddler in front of a TV for a short while won’t hurt them, but leaving them there for hours can. In fact, some experts have determined that watching television earlier than age two can be a contributing factor to developing Attention Deficit Disorder. If you can’t be with them physically, put them somewhere safe and let them play with their toys.

8. Be patient. Babies all learn at different rates so don’t get too discouraged if your toddler doesn’t learn to speak as quickly as another child. It may not seem like it, but your toddler will be talking when they’re ready. Of course, then you may wish they didn’t talk so much!

9. See the doctor. If you think your toddler is way behind their peers in speaking, you may want to see your child’s pediatrician. They will be able to test your toddler to see if there is a physical reason for them not speaking. If there is a problem, they will be able to give you the best advice for getting your toddler past the problem.

10. Love them as they are. If you put too much pressure on them to talk before they’re ready, it could do more harm than you realize. It’ll happen, just wait and see.

Try not to stress out about whether your toddler is talking or not. Unless your doctor gives you a reason why they won’t, you can expect your toddler to begin talking when they’re good and ready. Until then, talk to them, read to them, and keep on loving them!

Anyone who has homeschooled their children can tell you they have good days and they have bad days especially with child education. There are days when some homeschool parents may even wonder what on earth they’re doing. It’s on days like that many homeschooling parents wonder again about the pros and cons of home education.

The Pros of Home Education

Your child can work at their speed. Some children may be math whizzes who easily do algebra at home but are required to remain “at level” with the students in school classes. With home education, you can allow your child to excel in the areas they enjoy. There’s also nothing wrong with your child working on many different levels if that’s where their abilities are.

You can work with your child’s bent. Not all children learn in the same way. Some children are auditory learners, some hands-on learners, and some visual learners. Instead of providing the same type of teaching for every child in your home, you can determine how your child learns best and find a curriculum which will work with your child’s bent. You may find your child will enjoy learning more if they are being taught using their learning style.

You can watch your child relate to everyone around them. In public schools, children are separated by age; the only person older than them is their teachers. As they learn to deal with the world around them, they may have problems relating to people older or younger. Home educated children, on the other hand, normally can carry on a conversation and relate to people of all ages because they’re not segregated into age groups.

You have more control over what your child learns. Some people homeschool because of religious convictions. Others do so because they don’t want their children to be exposed to certain subjects in the way public schools generally handle them. As a parent who homeschools, you have more control over what your child learns, how they learn it, and when they learn it.

The Cons of Home Education

You’re together all the time. Let’s face it; too much of a good thing isn’t always good. When you’re together all the time, everyone can become overwhelmed and stressed by all the togetherness. Find activities your children can do away from you and this problem can be handled.

You may not have money for the curriculum you want. Homeschooling isn’t necessarily an inexpensive endeavor. In fact, some curriculums can be quite expensive. It is possible, however, to find free homeschool resources or you can purchase a used curriculum from other homeschoolers.

You may experience times of self-doubt, no matter how long you homeschool. It happens to some people who have homeschooled for years as well as to those new to homeschooling. If this is a problem, talk to other homeschool parents to get encouragement.

You may be concerned about your children not being around others. Socialization is one topic brought up when people say they’re considering homeschooling. While your children may be limited on a daily basis in who they interact with, many homeschooling families are involved in plenty of outside of the home activities such as scouting, religious, or community so their children can interact with others.

There are many pros and cons of home education. You can read through the above or talk with a homeschooling family to learn more about it. If you’re considering homeschooling, remember there are pros and cons to everything; you simply make the best decision you can based on the information you have.

Children may complain about going to school every day, but there’s a way to sneak in something for child education at other times. Family nature fun can teach as well as be enjoyable for everyone involved. The following ideas may be perfect to get your children learning and having fun at the same time.

Seed dispersal

Teach your children about how seeds are dispersed by taking them on a hike through a field or grassy area. You’ll need extra adult sized socks you won’t mind if they get dirty. Have your children place the extra socks on the outsides of their shoes and then ask them to walk around the field or grassy area for a couple of minutes. Let them run, skip, or hop to their heart’s content. Then bring them back and have them carefully remove the socks over a paper bag or a piece of white craft paper.

Your children will notice seeds that were on their socks. Ask them to draw pictures of the seeds and then discuss how seeds attach to clothing as one way of moving from one area to another. You can also explain other ways seeds are dispersed and how they grow in new areas.

Make a rainbow

This is probably one of the easiest ways to teach your children about the visible light spectrum. Take a junk CD out in the sunshine. Ask your children to hold the silver side up and move it until they can see the rainbow. Can they identify the different colors of the rainbow?

Back inside, fill a shallow pan with water. Place it near a window with direct sunlight. Put a mirror into the pan and slant it toward the sunlight so that it creates a refracted beam of light which makes a rainbow. Hold a piece of white paper up to the refracted sunbeam and watch the children’s faces as they see how you’ve made a rainbow. You can then teach them the pneumonic device – Roy G Biv – to help them remember the colors of the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet.

Petting zoo

Springtime is a great time to take your children to a petting zoo. You can take advantage of their interest in baby animals to teach them about the different families of animals. They may not remember that cats and dogs are mammals, but you’ll be planting seeds of knowledge that they may recall when they begin learning about animals in their future education.

Teaching doesn’t have to be boring and dry. By incorporating educational family nature fun, you can pass along knowledge while your children are enjoying themselves. What better combination is there for encouraging your children to learn?

Families who are considering home education, or homeschooling, for their children want to know what is needed for a successful home child education. You may be surprised to know that home education success is often more than educational. The following are some things a home educating family will need to succeed.

* Commitment of the whole family – One thing that that will help you to home educate successfully is a commitment to do so by the entire family. This means that both parents must agree that homeschooling is the right choice for their children. The children must be willing to be homeschooled and commit to do their best. Without this commitment, homeschooling will be stressful and will be seen more as an experiment which can be discarded rather than a change in the family’s dynamics.

* A good sense of humor – Home education requires the parent doing most of the teaching to have a good sense of humor. There are days when being able to laugh will be what gets you through. You’ll also want to try to make learning enjoyable and using humor is one way to do that. There will be times when you have to be serious, but allowing the children (and you as the teacher) to have fun during the learning process will make your day go smoother and quicker.

* A good relationship with your children – Parents who are having struggles with their children may not want to homeschool. It’s not that they can’t be effective in teaching their children, but their children may not want to spend most of their time with their parents. Having a good relationship with your children will enable you to bond closer together and overcome any obstacles you may face.

* Patience with your child and yourself – Many families choose to begin homeschooling from the beginning of their child’s education. It is so much easier then because children are like little sponges that soak up new skills and knowledge. As they get older, however, home educating may require more patience with your child and yourself. You may both get frustrated after a long day of schoolwork, but have patience; you can and will get through the tough days.

* Curriculum and course materials – Of course, if you’re teaching your child at home, you’ll need some type of curriculum or course materials. There are many homeschool curriculum choices available. Talk with other homeschool families to see what curriculum they use.

Make plans to attend homeschool curriculum fairs which are normally held at the end of school year. This allows you to physically look at the curriculum to see if it meets your family’s needs. You can also search online through auction websites to purchase a used curriculum and find websites for curriculum producers. Be sure to get a variety of catalogs to help you make your curriculum choices.

You may be under the impression that home education success depends strictly upon the curriculum or textbooks you use. Surprisingly, nothing could be further from the truth. Yes, the curriculum you use with your children is important, but if you don’t think you can spend the amount of time it takes to homeschool with your child day in and day out, homeschooling may not be the best choice for you.

If you really want to know what is needed to home educate successfully, look to your family’s commitment, sense of humor, and your relationship with your children to help you decide if this education method is best for you.

Parents often have busy lives which require them to juggle more than one task at a time. This is no different for homeschooling parents. If you’re thinking about homeschooling for child education, you may wonder how to balance your daily life as a homeschool mom. It is possible and these tips can help you.

Some families handle day-to-day life by creating detailed charts or schedules for each family member. They know what time breakfast is, how long to plan for each homeschool subject, what time they’ll eat lunch every day, how much free time they have, and when they’ll eat dinner. However, there’s no reason to believe this type of scheduling is necessary in order to balance your daily life as a homeschooling family.

Other families are opposite of the ones described above. They live life by the seat of their pants. They don’t plan elaborate schedules but prefer to take life as it comes. They may keep a calendar so they know about important appointments or events, but that’s as close as they get to a schedule. For them, living life one day at a time is about experiencing life as it happens rather than depending upon a piece of paper to dictate when they do things.

Does this mean that one method of balancing daily life is better than the other? Of course not! Part of the benefit of homeschooling is learning what works best for your own family. This may take time and some trial and error, but you will soon find yourself falling into a routine of sorts that is best for you.

Create an area in your home where you have access to good books and music. Having good resources around gives your child someplace to turn when they want to learn something. And the benefit is if they are interested on their own, they’re learning without realizing it. This method is often referred to as delight-driven or “unschooling.” It enables children to learn what interests them and allows Mom to be able to concentrate on taking care of the home rather than sitting with the child while they learn. Of course, even homeschooling moms know it’s important to be available when their child needs help, but they don’t feel obligated to remain right there with them.

Use real life events to help your child learn. If you’re cooking dinner, have your homeschooled child help you determine how much milk is needed if the recipe calls for one-third cup of something but you’re tripling the recipe. When you plan a trip to the grocery store, have your child write out the list of items needed. Then, while you’re walking through the store, have them help you determine which box potatoes is cheaper based on the cost and number of ounces are in the box. Both of these activities teach your child how math is important for daily life.

Get your children to help you with household duties. They can learn how to cook, sort clothing, do laundry, and stack dishes in a dishwasher. Not only will they be learning skills which will be helpful for their future, it will also make your job easier; you can also count the time they’re learning those skills as home economics - whether they’re boys or girls.

There are many things to can do to balance your daily life as a homeschool mom. Don’t feel like you have to do everything yourself. Let your partner work with your children on some of the subjects you feel uncomfortable teaching. Have your children help you with household duties. After some time you will be able to find what works best for your family so your life is more or less balanced.

Parents without doubt make the best teachers and this article on parents as teachers for life concentrates on the importance of child education.

Parents’ serve as a child’s first teachers and help shape a child’s future as well. The morals and values you impart to your child will help serve as guidelines all through their growing years and into adulthood.

Parents as teachers for life, is one of the really important aspects of parenting and if you get the grounding right you will be doing your child the biggest possible favor. What this means is your child’s education does not begin with kindergarten, it begins right there in your home in the pre-school years. The most crucial learning period for the child is before it enters school and parents have to teach by leading by example in both word and deed.

Given below are some ideas for helping to develop the various skills a child needs to face the world.

The early years of a child’s life are the formative years, where learning comes easily and very quickly to the child; you can help your child to develop excellent literacy skills by reading and talking out loud to the child. Ask children questions and get them to identify objects; this will help their speaking skills to develop. Read out loud from picture story books, point out objects and identify them to teach the child.

You can develop the child’s social skills by being positive and showing warmth in your behavior both inside your home and outside with other people. Take the time to study your child’s individual personality – each child is unique. Build on what you observe modifying your discipline style, always showing much love and support for the child. Make the effort to get your child involved in group activities and play dates. Talk to your child all the time he or she is with you, engaging a child in conversation asking them about their observations and thoughts keeps the little mind busy and develops interactive skills. Your support as a parent is very essential for developing healthy social behavior.

Everything you do and say, the way you react to your child’s questions and need for attention, all go towards building positive behavioral traits in the child. Warm, responsive parents who constantly make time for their children will find that their children are less prone to aggression and anti social behavior.

Always leave room for failure, don’t push children beyond their limits and remember that parents as teachers for life have a huge responsibility to getting it right, no second chances here!

Parents with attention to child education need to stay on their toes to help them succeed socially and schooling wise.

There are lists of ways for parents to help their kids in school and you need to invest time and effort in learning and practicing the suggested methods. This article focuses on how to get your child to discuss school and the happenings of the day. Without this information you will not be in a position to help the child.

There are lists of ways for parents to help their kids in school and some general ideas have been discussed in this article.

It does not matter what age group your child belongs to – don’t pounce on your children the moment they walk through the door to find out about tests, grades and other school stuff. Younger children are usually more willing to discuss what happened at school, eager in fact to share information. This is not the case with older children especially teenagers. You have to give the children time to unwind first. Choose general topics to talk about and give them something to eat and drink, children always fare better on full stomachs. Avoid being authoritative and forceful, your children need to feel comfortable confiding in you.

It is always good for parents to be aware of the teachers, friends, classrooms, school layout and subject matter that concern their children. In this way you can ask specific close ended questions that will give you more than monosyllabic answers. Stay involved by reading the school letter, talking or emailing teachers and chatting with the parents of their friends. There is no need to be nosy, just diplomatic.

You have to be patient and understanding with your children in order to help them in school. A parent who is always losing their cool becomes hard to approach. Encourage openness and try to keep discussions open between the child and both parents. Be aware of the nuances of your child’s speech and on the look out for social or academic problems that the child maybe facing. In other words learn to read between the lines but don’t go off tangent at any given opportunity. Be supportive, show love and kindness when helping a child deal with school issues.

With smaller children you may have to provide solutions to the problems that arise in their small world. Teach them problem solving skills and possible responses to the problems they face. Consider the child’s maturity level and stage of development before bursting into speech. With older children they probably already have the answers on how to handle problems and are just seeking parental support. Serious issues need to be addressed to the teacher to get their insights on how best to handle the matter. However, you need to know when to intervene and when to gently suggest solutions to your children.

There are endless lists of ways for parents to help their kids in school and remember practice makes perfect!

Your family could use some child education about our planet and all the different life forms that inhabit the earth. Teaching a child about the millions of species of animals that exist in this world, half of them in the rainforests are a good thing. This article on the endangered rainforest animals for your kids to know covers some of these animals in danger of extinction to create awareness among children. Since our children are the future of our country teaching them is our duty.

Children need to be made aware that most animal extinction and endangerment is caused by human activities. There are many animal rights activists who strive valiantly to save the endangered species and stop extinction but it is a long, hard battle. Rainforests are under constant threat and saving the rainforest means saving the animals that inhabit the forest. Tropical rainforests are considered to be nature’s largest pharmacy due to the numerous natural medicines found there.

A few of the better known endangered rainforest animals for your kids to know include:

Gorilla – found in the west central African rainforests of Zaire and Rwanda are in danger of being wiped out through loss of habitat and being hunted as bush meat. The Ebola virus has already done significant damage to the Gorilla population.

Golden Lion Tamarind Monkey - is probably one the most endangered of all the rainforest animals and is nearly extinct. The fur of these monkeys is extremely valuable and can fetch as much as 20,000 dollars on the black market. Their number has diminished drastically and only a few of the species are to be found in the Brazilian rainforests.

Jaguar – one of the sleekest of all beasts of prey, this magnificent animal is on the endangered list. Hunting although prohibited in most countries continues to drive the species nearer to extinction with each passing year.

Bengal Tiger – there are only approximately 4000 of these animals left in the wilds of the Sundarbans in India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, China and Siberia. When you consider that they numbered roughly 50000 in the 1900s, you will realize how much damage man has done by poaching not just these beautiful animals but their land.

Most of us know and love the Orangutan and it is sad to know that these cute creatures with their mops of orange hair are on the endangered list. Destruction and loss of habitat coupled with poaching and being hunted as an exotic species have led to the decline in numbers.

This list is only the beginning of a very long list of endangered rainforest animals for your kids to know. Encourage them to visit as many sites as possible to learn more and teach them to be motivated towards saving the endangered animals.

This article is a fascinating child education study of the extinct animals that once inhabited our planet. Read all about these animals from the not so distant Caspian Tiger, which went into extinction around the 1970s; to the Sea Cow, which disappeared from the Bering Sea. What we need to understand is that all through time, man in quest of advancement has been the cause of the extinction of the different species of animals, flora and fauna.

The twentieth century has probably seen the most extinction due to degradation of the natural habitat of animals and plants, overexploitation, human induced climate changes and human borne infections and diseases. The 21st is doing its best to outdo the damage done in the previous century.

Some of the more rare extinct animals can be classified as follows:

The Caspian Tiger was once found in Iran, Iraq, Turkey, Afghanistan, Mongolia and surrounding countries and was also referred to as the Persian tiger. It was the third largest of the species with a stocky body, strong legs, wide paws and unusually large claws, with a furry growth resembling a beard around the cheeks. In color the Caspian tiger was similar to the Bengal tiger. Varying reports claim the tiger went into extinction around 1950 to 1970; there have been reported sightings that have not been proven. This species has been systematically eradicated with Russia playing a major role in their extinction due to their major land reclamation plans. Deforestation and intensive hunting drove the Caspian tiger further and further from their habitat until they reached the mountains and certain extinction.

Most of us have probably never heard of the Irish Elk or Giant Deer, one of the largest of the deer species to inhabit the earth. Carbon dating places its extinction around 7-8 thousand years ago. The species was characterized by their distinctive antlers that were truly huge in size. Recent research indicates that large amounts of calcium and phosphate were required to form the antlers, which the animals met from their bones, leading to a condition similar to osteoporosis in the animal. Probably human presence and a decrease in their natural habitat led to their disappearance.

Extinct animals includes the non-threatening, passive sea cow found in the Bering Sea was discovered by Georg Steller and is commonly referred to as Steller’s Sea Cow. This animal weighed a massive three tons and was much larger than a dugong or manatee, and looked like a very large seal. It lived only in water never touching land and was completely tame. The most likely explanation for its disappearance is probably human presence.

Sports Trivia questions for Kids is now a common part of most sports magazines.

Trivia refers to inconsequential or unimportant matters that come up in day-to-day activities of human beings.

This does not mean that trivia questions for kids are something that can be ignored for child education and the kids can be kept away from these games. Essentially trivia questions are complete general knowledge questions that are picked up at random and the kid is asked to answer the question. This is a great fun game since the kid is very unaware of the type of question that would be asked. For example if kid A is asked what the capital of Scotland is, it does not mean that kid B would be asked a similar question concerning the geographic characteristic of some other country. Kid B may have to answer which of the answer would represent an odd number in the square root of a given number. The kids get a good amount of fun in answering these questions and if you can dangle a reward like a chocolate bar for the best kid answering the most number of questions correctly, the kids would just love to be in these trivia questions for kids sessions every day.

There are a number of ways by which the presence of the kids can be increased to make the entire session more lively and interesting. Along with the trivia questions for kids you can throw in some song and dance programs or a fashion show that will make the little kids bubble with joy. While most of these programs can be for trivia questions, the scattered interspersing of other programs is bound to make these programs more colorful and interesting. Always try to get as many kids as possible to participate in these programs since more the participation, more would be the interest and the competitive edge to get that chocolate bar. This prepares the kids for stronger questions and they can handle these sessions easily and confidently.

Trivia questions for kids are generally available in the huge selection of current affairs and general knowledge books available in any good book shop. You can also get a fraction of these questions in the Sunday tabloid editions of major newspapers. The best place to look for trivia questions for kids would obviously be the internet. There is hardly a need to buy anything online or offline since most of the questions are either available free of costs or are easily obtainable from any reputed bookshop at a discounted price. Trivia questions are all encompassing in nature and do not call for expert guidance in finding the most appropriate answers. The more the kid is able to actively participate in these open sessions the more prepared he or she is to face the future in every respect, be it academics, career based or professional fields. It is therefore wrong to believe that for an all round development of the child, outdoor sports and activities are all that are required. When the mind is able to grow unhindered and unchecked in this rapidly changing world, the effect is for everyone to see.

In the world of child education, reading games play a very important role. Reading games for kids are of various types.

There are typical reading games that are to be played by a group of kids together. The kid who reads the fastest without any interruptions would get the winning prize where as others coming close to the winner are given consolation prizes. Other reading games include word pronunciation accuracy, spelling accuracy and voice modulations. These reading games actually help the kid in developing fluency over the language. Later over the years, the kids can mimic the typical phrases and parts of speech applied in the grammar of the text when they learn to use the words and the phrases in their writing skills or speech skills.

Hundreds of reading games for kids are available online as well. Most of these games do not cost any money to own them; there are some that are however available at a price. Even then, these games do not burn a hole in your pocket if you decide to purchase one or two of these games. A complete hold over the language is possible when you let your kid practice the games whenever they feel like. Besides this, the reading skills are also developed on a regular basis. The best reader stands to win handsome prizes and trophies and they motivate the reader for a larger and a better performance the next time.

Most reading games are formulated with the grammar and vocabulary in mind, so when the kid is actually playing the game, two additional purposes are being served. The vocabulary increases dramatically and the control over the language multiplies many times over. The grammar becomes much more polished and perfect though it must be said that just by enjoying a good reading game for the kids there is a tonic effect in the total aspect of the game. These learning games help the kid in his or her budding years to get a complete grip on the language which will be all the more powerful and substantial. Reading games for kids are available online though the pricing may vary depending upon the quality of the game and the matter that suits the child.

At one point of time the game is so engrossing that the child finds it even more easier going through the various intricacies of the game. Generally, these very reasonably priced games are available in any good bookstore or in large toyshops. The good thing is that these reading games for kids are available online as well. Most of the games can easily be understood and played as per the playing instructions so there is not much of an ambiguity as to how the game is played. Where there are no instructions the best method adopted by the consensus of all the players will be in force. Reading games for kids are here to stay, and no matter how much the electronic media develops over the years, reading would remain the first choice among the intelligentsia of today.

Crossword puzzles have been in existence for more than a hundred years as they become more and more popular by the day especially for child education.

These puzzles take the kid to the next level in informative learning which is a great way to learn new words, and implement them in day to day usage. Kids printable crossword puzzles are different types of crossword puzzles which the kids enjoy to the maximum. One cannot expect kids to play the regular crossword puzzles since they involve the use of complex words and no kid is expected to know these complex words. But the normal kids printable crossword puzzles are basic puzzles containing a lot of kid stuff which they are either familiar with or would be fairly familiar with after they play the game.
Kids printable crossword puzzles are available in a lot of formats suitable for the kids. The most acceptable formats for the kids are the simple ones that have a matrix of horizontally and vertically arranged words that also pick up the letters from other words to form a new word all by themselves. Not only do the kids learn the new word, they also learn the spelling of the word and try to memorize the spelling well. In a great way this improves the vocabulary of the kid and more and more words get added to his or her tiny vocabulary. Soon the child becomes more and more used to the game and has a feeling of making a big win by solving all the game without any help from any resources. The more the puzzles solved, the more the words learnt and this way the kid progresses through the intricacies of the language in a fluent speed. This helps the child in overcoming some of the learning obstacles in the school level as well since now he or she is more armed with a larger vocabulary of words and can tell the spelling of these words with amazing fluency.
In these days when reading is no more considered as a very valuable pastime, crossword puzzles are among the few options left for the child to actually learn some good words that can be put to use on a regular basis. It is hardly ever necessary to buy a book of crossword puzzles and there is rarely a good book that puts together hundreds of puzzles at one place. Most of the kids printable crossword puzzles are available in kid magazines and journals. Some tabloids devoted for the kids also have these puzzles in print on a regular basis. However if you insist on buying your kid some kids printable crossword puzzles where you can arrange the blocks and let your kid fill in the gaps with the correct alphabets, you can just have a look at the online shops available selling kid stuff. These shops generally have these crossword puzzles and also offer good bargains and discounts if you are making several purchases at the same time.

There are various math games for kids these days that are becoming very popular too especially for child education.

Hundreds of games are available right from the 1st grade till the kid has attained seniority and it has been researched that a kid who is into math games regularly does well in mathematics as a subject. These kids grow up learning mathematics the fun way and the result is for all to see. All kids learn mathematics in a different way but the approach to learn the subject is different in different schools. As a result the kid who adopts a more casual approach to the subject by playing various fun games with other kids happen to get a better understanding of the subject than that kid who has been brought up learning mathematics the typical academic way. Calculations are always looked down upon and the great mathematical formulae that the renowned mathematicians have researched and found out have always had a negative effect on young minds. The way the subject is presented to the kids actually makes all the difference. Right from the tender age when the kids enjoy a game of box me in where, two players participate in joining dots and get the priority of writing their initials in the box made by the player to the age of trigonometry and differential calculus, what is essentially needed is a very calculated approach so that the children do not feel that something is being imposed upon them which they have to learn to clear the grades.

The moment the idea of studying mathematics for clearing grades come into the tiny minds, the concept of mathematics being a fun subject vanishes and from then on mathematics is suddenly looked down upon. Not any more with the huge range of math games for kids that are freely available online and in various fun books in bookshops. If you are looking for various math games for kids that you would want to buy and see your child work and enjoy on these games, you can visit any bookstore and search for these game books. These games are so designed that they can be taken off the book and played on a separate playing board too. Some of the most basic and fundamental games in mathematics are available online as well. You don’t have to really buy these games but if you want to test the games and see the suitability for your child, you are definitely allowed a demo version. In this version, you can play your own games and find out your liking index to the game.

Math games for kids are also available online. Most of the games are free but there are some sites that build their own games and publish them either in a book form or as downloadable software that can be easily played by your child. Most math games are free but there are some that comes at a very reasonable price. Neither there are moving parts nor flashing lights, so it is very easy and safe as far as math games for kids are concerned.

In the world of games, printable games for kids are nothing new especially for child education.

There have been a number of such games available throughout the world and the games are of different varieties to suit all age needs. The most common printable games are either scrabble or crossword puzzles though there is the maze and the dot joining game that also has been widely accepted throughout the world.

Just how much the kids love the printable games is understood by the popularity of these games throughout the world. Most of the printable kids’ games are based on some degree of understanding and knowledge so at the end of each game there is a certain amount of learning that the kid picks up. This motivates him or her to move on to the other games that are sure to keep him or her engrossed throughout the day.

Most of the printable games for kids are cheap and affordable. Since there is no use of any other materials like plastic or metal, these games are safe and not hazardous too. What actually keeps these games as something totally different from the other games is their ability to teach something to the kids at the end of each game. For example the scrabble game teaches the kids new words that they can apply when the occasion is suitable for such an application. Also there are some more printable games for kids that teach them how to hold on to their patience and hit a win at the right time. The maze for example is full of fun as the kid invariably ends up at a wall so he or she has to start all over again.

Printable games for kids are available in normal games stores and book shops as well. These are extremely affordable and promise to be more interesting than earlier games. If you are not sure as to which such game is suitable for you, try downloading a demo version and let your kid play through the game on his or her own. You will be amazed to see the way your kid progresses through the game at the speed of a super thinker. Buying these games online is also very easy.

Look up any search engine with the keyword ‘printable games for kids’ and you will find hosts of websites coming up with various games at various prices. There are bargain offers and discount sales also so there are really a lot available online.

Moreover, you have the choice of selecting your game after letting your kid enjoy the demo version so that your kid will never feel let down with the game that you would like him or her to play rather than you imposing your selection on his or her mind. The only possible drawback of these games is that these games make the child a bit of a book worm type always engrossed in the printed games at any time which may not be good for the health of the child.

It has been observed that many parents around the world don’t want their kids to watch TV and movies. This is not the right approach because you might be creating a hindrance between your child and learning, development, growth.

When kids start learning it is very important that you get the Kids Dictionary for Learning. They really need the dictionary to look for the right meanings as they start child education from an early age.

Wouldn’t we all like to make our kids’ lives magically full of friends and free of stress? Unfortunately, there is no magic formula for making the transition to a new school totally stress-free. But there are things we can do to help kids cope for child education. Teaching them how to make friends can really help children adjust to a new place. Here are some strategies for helping your kids in a new school.

1. Meet the teacher ahead of time

If it’s practical, arrange a meeting with your child’s new teacher before the first day of class. Most teachers are glad to do this, and if your child sees a familiar person in his teacher, he will feel more relaxed. See if the prospective teacher will meet you both for lunch, or come to your home for a meal. More than one meeting is even better.

2. Visit the school before class begins

Take a tour of the school to get familiar with the layout and possibly meet some of the students. If it’s summer, there may be an official orientation for new students; but it’s better to go as a family or with a parent in a no-pressure visit. Your child will feel a lot less overwhelmed if she knows where her locker, the bathroom, and her classroom are going to be.

3. Keep lines of communication open

Your child needs to feel safe in discussing social problems and joys with you. If you and your child never talk about such things, you may think everything is just fine when it is not. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, and let your child know you are asking because you want to help.

4. Teach basic social skills

It’s easy to take these skills for granted, but your child may not know these things - especially if you have never gone over them. Teach him to look people in the eye, to shake hands, to answer when spoken to, and to introduce himself. Also teach specifics about being a good listener, such as not interrupting and making eye contact while another is speaking. These are skills that will serve your child well in school and in the future.

You can arrange play dates and meetings to teach these things, and take advantage of ones that happen along the way, such as the grocery checkout clerk or the mailman. Keep it relaxed and easy, even game-like at times, because high-pressure situations forced on your child will only make him more anxious.

5. Encourage some group activities

There’s no need to overwhelm your child with a dozen extracurricular activities. But finding something your child can do with others can help socialization. Find out what groups are available at your child’s school - it does not have to be a sport, or a large, organized group (although those are fine). Find something that suits your child’s personality and needs.

Teach and practise socialization, talk to your child about how she’s doing, and the transition to a new school will be more a time of excitement than one of stress.

Anyone who has homeschooled their children can tell you they have good days and they have bad days. There are days when some homeschool parents may even wonder what on earth they’re doing. It’s on days like that many homeschooling parents wonder again about the pros and cons of home child education.

Families who are considering home child education, or homeschooling, for their children want to know what is needed to home educate successfully.
